Twelve persons, including children, were on Wednesday killed in Tse Tume
and Agaraga in Logo Local Government Area by suspected
Fulani herdsmen.
The headsmen also razed over 45 houses and huts in the affected communities in a renewed attack in the local government area.
The affected communities according to a source, were attacked at about 8p.m. Tuesday night with the herders shooting maiming and killing any villager insight.
“It was around 8p.m. that the people started hearing sounds of gunshots from every direction in the village, and in the that confusion people started running for safety.
“Unfortunately, about 12 of them were caught up with and killed while many sustained injuries while trying to escape.
“As I speak with you, many of the villagers are still missing and many have been rendered homeless because over 45 houses and huts were razed by the herdsmen who beat a retreat after the attack.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP, Austin Ezeani, said the police were aware of three deaths in the attack.
Ezeani also confirmed that several houses and huts were razed by the assailants but noted that the attackers retreated when security personnel stormed the area.
